INSTRUCTOR REGISTRATION BROCHURE
Requalification
There are no annual fees for being registered with Nuco Training, but you will be required to renew your First Aid at Work Instructor qualification every three years. We provide First Aid Instructor Update 2-day courses throughout the UK, which enables you to renew your Level 3 Award
(Level 6 in Scotland) First Aid at Work qualification and
you will be issued with a new First Aid at Work Instructor certificate (both valid for 3-years).
The course also covers your annual monitoring visit for that given year and you will also receive up-to-date training materials on the course.
Attending the course also has other benefits, including receiving updates from our lead trainers relating to protocol changes, any changes to the First Aid industry, along with updates relating to Nuco Training in general and the online support area, NucoPlus©.
You will also have contact with other First Aid at Work instructors during the course, which is a great way of networking and also gaining training tips, teaching styles and other useful information.
Monitoring
As an Approved Centre of First Aid Awards Ltd., it has been necessary to revise our Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) procedures to meet the requirements set by the regulatory bodies.
Nuco Training must ensure that every First Aid at Work Instructor is monitored annually and as mentioned above, if you attend a First Aid Instructor Update course with ourselves during the calendar year, we will not require a completed monitoring report.
The monitoring visit can be organised for any Ofqual/SQA First Aid qualification that you are teaching and if you do not run any courses during a calendar year, you will need to be monitored on the first course which you deliver the year after.
On completion, the Monitor should discuss their observations with you in confidentiality and if you are happy with the report, you are both required to sign the form to confirm this.
Please contact us if you would like a copy of the Monitoring Report form, or you can simply download this from the Instructor Area once successfully registered.
From 1st October 2015, qualified First Aid at Work Instructors are able to observe your teaching skills. The Monitor must hold a formal Internal Quality Assurance qualification, or have attended an IQA CPD course through an Ofqual/SQA regulated awarding organisation.
