FIRST AID INSTRUCTOR UPDATE COURSES

In order to maintain your registration with Nuco Training as a First Aid Instructor, you need to attend an Instructor Update course every 3 years to coincide with the expiry of your qualification.

We try to schedule these courses for you so that they are in your area around the time of your expiry date.

The course includes the following elements:

  • Renewal of your FAW certificate for a further 3 years
  • Renewal of your FAW Instructor qualification for a further 3 years
  • Annual Monitoring Report of your training - an Ofqual requirement
  • Issue of a new up-to-date Tutor Pack with latest CD-ROM and Training Notes
  • Latest edition of the FAW book

This 2-day course is priced at £195 + vat and is all you need to do to remain compliant in order to teach First Aid for the next 3 years.

Attending our course also has the other following benefits:

  • Receiving updates from our lead trainers relating to protocol changes
  • Updates on changes to the First Aid industry
  • Updates relating to Nuco Training and our online support area
  • Contact with other instructors from your area, which is a great way of networking: gaining training tips, observing teaching styles and other useful information relating to your teaching/training skills

THE MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK REGULATIONS 1999

In the April newsletter there was some confusion in respect of the changes and it should have been written better than it was. Please accept our apologies for that.
The Regulations still remain and present the same requirements as before.

The change is in respect of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Approved Code of Practice (ACOP - L21) which has been withdrawn and is no longer available.
There has been an update of the guidance that supports the Regulations which is Managing for Health and Safety (HSG65).

Many thanks to Adam Worth BSc (Hons), dipNEBOSH, CMIOSH for bringing it to our attention.
