REVISED FIRST AID GUIDANCE
HSE has just published New Guidance ahead of the Regulation changes, which will now definitely take place on 1st October 2013. Please see the link for full details.
This is the latest version of GEIS3 - HSE's new guidance on the selection of first aid training providers.
HSE now intends to publish this final version for employers on the selection of a training provider to accompany the new L74 Guidance, which has also undergone minor edits following feedback. The revised GEIS3 and L74 Guidance will apply from 1st October 2013, when the legislative amendments to regulation 3(2) of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 come into force.
HSE has amended the guidance after listening to the views of businesses, organisations representing both employees and employers and the first aid training industry. There has been no change in the thinking or intent of the guidance - that is, that it will assist employers in satisfying themselves that they have made an appropriate choice of competent first aid training provider.
