PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID
As mentioned in our July Newsletter, the existing 2-day Level 2 Paediatric qualification is to become a Level 3 qualification.
In addition, we have just received confirmation that Ofqual have accepted our request for a new
Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (QCF) which will be a new regulated qualification on 1st September.
To summarise - as from 1st September 2014:
- New Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF) 2-day course replaces the existing
Level 2 Award (2 day) NB: This could be a 3-day course in the new year
- New Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (QCF) 1-day course replaces the
Unit Accreditation certificate we issue presently for a Paediatric 1-day (unit 1) course
A new Course Paperwork Pack will be available in the Download Area on Nucoplus. In addition, a new 112 page Paediatric First Aid Book will be available, which will also include Defibrillation and Adult Basic Life Support as a bonus.
Due to the issues raised on Page 21 of the Statutory Framework for the EYFS Document and as a result of a Freedom Of Information request and subsequent conversations with DfE, they have now added a Clarification Note on page 34 of the actual EYFS document.
Full information, including these documents can be found on the gov.uk website on the EYFS Statutory Guidance
page.
